The Oslo Concert House, Oslo, Norway

The Swedish architect Gösta Aabergh won the competition for the Oslo Concert Hall in 1957 with a triangular design of the auditorium, the same shape as the site. When appointed acoustic consultant we stressed the inherent difficulties in this outlay.

Through thorough model research of all design aspects it was possible to achieve excellent acoustic conditions throughout the auditorium, and as can be seen from the picture the basic triangular shape is withheld but has been modified to a high degree.

The concert hall seating 1700 people in a volume of 20.000 m3 has an RT and EDT of nearly 2.0 sec. It was opened in 1977 and has through the years been highly praised for it's acoustic by both musicians and critics
