National Concert Hall, Dublin, Ireland

The design architect Michael O'Doherty of the office of Public Works in Ireland chose Jordan Akustik as acoustic consultant when the National Concert hall in Dublin was on the planning.

The project is typical of a hall to be built within existing boundaries which in this case was the old University hall and we convinced the architect to keep and restore as much as possible of the original architecture rich as it was with pillars, niches, ornaments and the like. The design concentrated on the stage, floor and balcony and of course the essential acoustic tuning areas.

The hall which opened in 1980 has a warm and lively acoustic environment with a volume of 13.00 m3 and 1300 seats and both a RT and EDT at 2.0 sec. flat throughout the frequency range.
